Adjusting the Bambach
Fitting a backrest
When the seat leaves our Factory, it is ready for the backrest to be fitted into the backrest bracket.
Standing at the rear of the seat, pull the backrest adjust lever (lever C - the only lever on the left side of the seat) upwards with your left hand. With your right palm push down firmly on the bracket at the back of the seat until it will go down no further. Holding the bracket in this position, push the backrest adjust lever back down again to hold the bracket in this position.
With the stem of the backrest protruding through the opening in the gaiter, push it into the plastic bracket. Important do not apply any leverage to the backrest before the stem is fully into the bracket as this may damage it. Firmly push the backrest down until the bottom of the stem is level with the bottom of the bracket. push the plastic gaiter until it covers the rear of the bracket.
By pushing the backrest down further the stem will protrude through the bottom of the gaiter, continue pushing down until the backrest is at the height required, then turning the large knob on the right of the seat, clockwise will hold the backrest in position. Watch the videos to see a simple demonstration of fitting and romoving the backrest.
Adjusting the height of a backrest
Loosen the backrest height adjust knob by turning it anticlockwise. You will be able to raise or lower the backrest until it is suitable for your requirement. To keep the backrest at your chosen height simply tighten the knob, being careful not to over-tighten.
Adjusting the tilt of a backrest
On the left hand side of the seat is the backrest angle adjust lever (lever C). Lift this lever up and then tilt the back rest backwards or forwards to the correct position for the user. Push the adjust lever down to lock the seat in this position.
Adjusting the height of the seat
Use the seat height adjust lever (lever A - the front most lever on the right of the seat) to raise and lower the height of the seat until the user’s thighs are pointing down at about 45 degrees. The videos demonstrate height adjustment to seats with a gas lift stam or a fixed stem:
Adjusting a height locking bracket (Optional extra)
When the seat leaves our factory, the locking bracket is in the non-locked position. Once the seat is correctly adjusted, loosen the locking bracket bolts with the key provided, and slide the bracket as far towards the back of the seat as possible. Re-tighten the bolts.
Adjusting the tilt of a seat
Pull the seat angle adjust lever (lever B - the rear lever on the right of the seat) fully up to release the tilt mechanism. Adjust the seat to the tilt required. Push the adjust lever down to lock the seat in this position.
Using a removable tilt handle
Turn the seat upsideown, and using the key supplied by Bambach, unscrew the pin that goes through the levers handle. Remove the pin and the lever should come away from the seat. Be sure to keep the lever and pin for future use.
Changing a seat stem
A special tool is required to change a seat stem. Please call Bambach on freephone 0800 581 108.
The locking castors are operated by simply depressing the lever over the castor. Unlocking is achieved by lifting the lever.
